  38. OK, I know this one VERY well. The problem is not the Mod-config file, it's
  39. what was saved to the Mod-config file. At some point you quit Modeler with
  40. "Two-sides" selected. That's under Objects/Options. When you tripled the
  41. polygons with "Two-sides" selected, you created surfaces pointed inward and
  42. outward. This is what was causing "Metaform" to only split your polygons
  43. into more poly's...It didn't know which way to go with the smoothing. BTW
  44. you don't have to "Triple" the polygons unless they have over four points,
  45. and even then you can use "Polygon Statistics" to select ONLY the ones >4
  46. Vertices and "Triple" only those.

  48. So the solution is select "One side" in the Options menu and quit Modeler,
  49. this will save this option and the problem should be solved.

  51. Stuart Ferguson if you're reading this- that was the answer to why my
  52. Subdivide/Smooth function wasn't working. You may not remember but I 
  53. talked to you and Allen at SIGGRAPH about it- I guess the answer was 
  54. just to simple, I know I was looking for a bigger problem.
